Stokes Stitt, Jr., 74, of Allentown, PA passed away suddenly on November 23, 2024 at home. born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on February 1, 1950 he was the son of the Late Stokes Stitt, Sr., and Ruth (Ashe). He was the husband of Gensenia (Rivera) since April of 2010. Mr. Stitt graduated from the Funeral Service Education Program at Northampton Community College and after the death of his Father continued a legacy of service at the Stokes Stitt Funeral Home in Reading, PA (The first and only African American Funeral Home to be constructed from the ground up in Berks County). Several years later the funeral home transitioned to the Baker Family and the name was changed to TJ Baker Funeral Home. At the untimely passing of Mr. Baker, Stokes again returned home to supervise the Funeral Home until 2016 when he was called upon to take the helm of the Judd-Beville Funeral Home. Mr. Stitt has served as supervisor until his passing bringing to end a legacy of service to both the Reading and Lehigh Valley Communities.
He will be remembered for his steadfast faithfulness, and his heart to help anyone in need. He was a member of Restoration Temple in Allentown since 2017. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his friends, fishing at the lake or shooting at the range.
Funeral Services will take place in Restoration Temple 1101 W. Tilghman St. Allentown, PA on Saturday at 7PM. Viewing will take place from 5:30 until services. Interment at his request will be private.
