Stephen A. Tarboro was born in Bethlehem PA on October 23, 1956. He passed away on Thursday July 18, 2023, after a long illness. He was the son of Deacon Oscar L. Tarboro Sr and Gladys A. Tarboro, both deceased.
He received his education in the Bethlehem Area School District, graduating from Liberty High School 1975. He was also a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem and participated in their boxing program, winning the Golden Gloves award and also boxing for an organization in Allentown.
He was member of Second Baptist Church. Stephen joined the Navy in 1976, following in his father’s footsteps, and was honorably discharged. He served on the USS Constellation Aircraft Carrier and traveled in that capacity to several countries. After his service, he had various jobs through out the Lehigh Valley. He also enjoyed cooking.
He was previously married to Jane M (Kelly) Tarboro.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories two loving daughters, Mirinda L. Shannon and Kelly L. Tarboro; Grandchildren, Chelsi Marie Grace Tarboro Repsher, Chasidi Lee Repsher, McKensi R Shannon, Myaleez E Sabater, Aidan L Shannon and Laylanee D Tarboro. He is also survived by two great grandchildren-Ellaya R Rugis and Jayce Rodrigues and two sisters, Karen P Tarboro Hawkins (Anthony “Rick”) in Maryland, Arlene M Irby in Bethlehem, brothers Oscar L. Jr (Toni), Thomas and John Tarboro.
He was predeceased by his son Stephen A Tarboro Jr, daughter Baby Girl Tarboro; brothers Galen, Gerald and Jeffrey Tarboro; sisters Stephanie Stephens and Michelle “Mitzi” Tarboro Brantley; and nephew Willy Luke Brantley.
He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 beginning at 11 am at St Bernard’s, second Floor, 333 Brodhead Ave, Bethlehem. You may greet the family from 10:30 am to 11am.
Interment with full Military Honors will take place privately with the family at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery-Annville, PA
