In Loving Memory of a Beloved Mother and Grandmother

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and cherished grandmother, Rosalvina Matamoros of Allentown, PA.  Born on January 9, 1936, in Colombia, she was the daughter of the Late Samuel Soler and Esposorio Vargas.  She departed this world on June 8,2023, while at St. Luke's University Hospital-Fountain Hill,  leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and countless cherished memories. As she embarks on her eternal journey, she is joyously reunited with her beloved husband, Jose A. Matamoros.

Rosalvina embraced life with a rare and radiant spirit. She was a beacon of light, bringing joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. Her kind heart and gentle nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rosalvina was an exceptional woman whose love and devotion knew no bounds. As a mother, her love had helped her son, Arthur J. Caicedo to celebrate his triumphs and provided him with unwavering support and guidance. Her love was a constant source of comfort and inspiration. She was his rock, a pillar of strength, and her love will forever guide him. He will forever be thankful for his mother's dedicated love, support, and guidance through their lives together. 

As a grandmother to Ingrid Caicedo, Stephany Caicedo, Arthur D. Caicedo, Rose Lily Gonzalez, George Gonzalez, and Anthony Gonzalez, Rosalvina gave boundless affection and created a treasure trove of beautiful memories. She delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and laughter. From shopping spree sessions to English classes and heartfelt conversations, she made each experience unforgettable. Her love will continue to blossom within their hearts, forever reminding them of her embrace.

Rosalvina possessed an unwavering faith that served as a guiding light throughout her life. She found solace and inspiration in her spiritual beliefs, and her infinite trust in a higher power was a source of strength during both times of triumph and adversity. Her faith was a testament to her resilience and an inspiration to all who knew her.

Beyond her role as a mother and grandmother, Rosalvina was a friend, a confidante, and a source of endless support. Her gentle nature and compassionate heart drew people towards her, and she had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. She leaves behind a vast network of friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.

While we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary soul, we find solace in knowing that Rosalvina has now found eternal peace. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones. We will carry her legacy forward, embracing her values of love, compassion, and unwavering strength.

In remembrance of our dear mother and cherished grandmother, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 10AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  The viewings will take place in the funeral home on Friday 6-8PM and Saturday at 9AM.  Processional to Sacred Heart will leave the funeral home Saturday morning at 9:45AM. We invite all those whose lives were touched by her to join us in celebrating her remarkable journey.

Despite the challenges she faced towards the end, her resilience and determination revealed her true warrior spirit. Rosalvina leaves behind a profound void that will never be filled. But as we grieve, we also rejoice in the incredible privilege of having had her in our lives. Her love will forever remain etched in our hearts, and her spirit will guide us through the days ahead. Rest in peace, dear mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

En amorosa memoria de una querida madre y abuela

Con corazones afligidos y profunda tristeza, anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestra querida madre y apreciada abuela, Rosalvina Matamoros de Allentown, PA. Nacida el 9 de enero de 1936 en Colombia, era hija de los difuntos Samuel Soler y Esposorio Vargas. Partió de este mundo el 8 de junio de 2023, mientras se encontraba en el Hospital Universitario St. Lukes-Fountain Hill, dejando atrás un legado de amor, fortaleza e innumerables recuerdos entrañables. Mientras emprende su viaje eterno, se reúne con alegría con su amado esposo, José A. Matamoros.

Rosalvina acogió la vida con un espíritu extraordinario y radiante. Era un faro de luz, que llevaba alegría y calidez a todos los que encontraba. Su corazón amable y su naturaleza gentil tocaron las vidas de todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Rosalvina fue una mujer excepcional, cuyo amor y devoción no conocían límites. Como madre, su amor ayudó a su hijo, Arthur J. Caicedo, a celebrar sus triunfos y le brindó apoyo y una guía inquebrantable. Su amor fue una fuente constante de consuelo e inspiración. Ella era su roca, un pilar de fuerza. Su amor lo guiará por siempre. Él estará para siempre agradecido por su amorosa dedicación, apoyo y guía a lo largo de sus vidas juntos.

Como abuela de Ingrid Caicedo, Stephany Caicedo, Arthur D. Caicedo, Rose Lily González, George González y Anthony González, Rosalvina brindó un afecto sin límites y creó un tesoro de hermosos recuerdos. Se deleitaba en cada momento pasado con sus nietos, cubriéndolos de amor, sabiduría y risas. Desde sesiones de compras hasta clases de inglés y conversaciones sinceras, hizo que cada experiencia fuera inolvidable. Su amor continuará floreciendo en sus corazones, recordándoles siempre su dedicación.

Rosalvina poseía una fe inquebrantable que sirvió como luz guía a lo largo de su vida. Encontraba consuelo e inspiración en sus creencias espirituales, y su confianza infinita en un poder superior fue una fuente de fortaleza tanto en momentos de triunfo como de adversidad. Su fe fue un testimonio de su resiliencia y una inspiración para todos los que la conocieron.

Más allá de su papel como madre y abuela, Rosalvina fue una amiga, una confidente y un apoyo firme. Su naturaleza gentil y su corazón compasivo atraían a las personas hacia ella, y tenía una habilidad innata para hacer que todos se sintieran valorados y amados. Deja atrás una vasta red de amigos cuyas vidas se enriquecieron con su presencia.

Mientras lamentamos la pérdida de un alma tan extraordinaria, encontramos consuelo en saber que Rosalvina ha encontrado ahora la paz eterna. Su memoria vivirá por siempre en los corazones de sus seres queridos. Llevaremos adelante su legado, acogiendo sus valores de amor, compasión y fortaleza inquebrantable.

En memoria de nuestra querida madre y apreciada abuela, se llevará a cabo una Misa de Funeral Cristiano el sábado 17 de junio de 2023, a las 10 a. m. en la Iglesia Católica Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. El velorio se realizará en la funeraria el viernes de 6 a 8 p. m. y el sábado a las 9 a. m. El cortejo hacia el Sagrado Corazón partirá de la funeraria el sábado a las 9:45 a. m. Invitamos a todos aquellos cuyas vidas fueron tocadas por ella a unirse a nosotros para celebrar su notable trayectoria.

A pesar de los desafíos que enfrentó en sus últimos momentos, su perseverancia y determinación revelaron su verdadero espíritu guerrero. Rosalvina deja un vacío profundo que nunca podrá ser llenado. Pero mientras nos lamentamos, también nos regocijamos en el increíble privilegio de haberla tenido en nuestras vidas. Su amor permanecerá grabado en nuestros corazones para siempre, y su espíritu nos guiará en los días venideros. Descansa en paz, querida madre, abuela y suegra. Te extrañaremos profundamente pero nunca te olvidaremos.
