With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of my beloved Philomen Monica Paul Marshall, who graced this world with her warmth and kindness. Monica was born on October 11, 1945, and left us on January 4, 2025, at the age of 79. She was the cherished daughter of the late Sylvia Forteau and the late Hilton Pierre.
Monica was a shining light in our lives, embodying love, warmth, and kindness that touched everyone she met. She dedicated her life to caring for others and was a beacon of love, strength, and wisdom—a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Monica had an extraordinary gift for creating warmth and joy, whether through her culinary delights that brought family together, the vibrant gardens she lovingly tended, or the heartfelt stories she shared about her childhood adventures in Trinidad. Her laughter, rooted in the vibrant culture of her homeland, was a melody that will forever echo in our hearts.
Above all, Monica’s greatest legacy was her unwavering faith in the Lord. Her favorite hymn was "Through All the Changing Scenes of Life."
Monica leaves behind her loving husband, Byron, who was her partner and confidant throughout their journey together. She will be deeply missed by her children: Wayne, Susan, Charmaine, Sherry, Marlon, and Richard, as well as her late son, Michael, whom she now joins in eternal peace. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ihouma, Kyle, Keron, and Jalen, and her beloved great-grandson, Kendi, along with her sister Louise, nephew Stanley, brother-in-law Johnson, and other extended family members.
Philomen Monica Paul Marshall will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 PM, followed by a service at 12PM in Restoration Temple 1101 W Tilghman St, Allentown, PA 18102. Burial will follow at Garden of Peace Cemetery-Fullerton.
