Remembering Oral
Oral Fitzgerald Lounds affectionately called “Saley” by some of his siblings was born in Bristol, England on May 11, 1963, to Linford and Pearline Lounds. Oral migrated to the United States, October 14, 1973, to join his parents and siblings in Brooklyn, New York.
Oral attended George Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn, where he learned and developed automotive mechanic skills. Oral was also very adept at carpentry work. He obtained various construction jobs and earned a living in that line of work.
Oral had been estranged from the family for many years, but over the past three years forged a renewed relationship with his siblings and some of his children. May God grant him eternal peace.
Oral leaves behind his parents, wife Tammy, five children: Oral Jr., Keora, Marcus, Jacob, and Jailyn; three grandchildren, siblings: Winnifred, Uvolin, Ainsley, Horace (Juney), Valrose, Deborah; aunts Norma Barrett & Millicent Barrett, niece Madyson, whom he connected with upon moving to Pennsylavania, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by sister Vivia Lounds.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for your thoughts, prayers and many acts of kindness shown towards us during this time.
A special thanks to the team at Bayada Hospice Care for their superior care and thoughtful efforts in making Oral’s final journey peaceful.
