Kelvin Forrest Tucker, 66, of Easton, Pennsylvania, was born on October 1, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Lawrence Arthur Tucker, Sr. and Lucille Sumpter Tucker Lawrence. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the New Eastwood Nursing Home.
He was educated in the New York City School System and attended many training programs for which he was awarded many certificates. Kelvin better known as “Kelly” met his first love and high school sweetheart, Anna, and from their union were born three children, Christine, Kelly Nicole, Kelvin Antoine.
Kelly’s passion was cooking, He worked as a short order cook at the popular restaurant known as Burger Flame. His cooking skills made him the family top chef. He definitely loved to cook and his family definitely loved to eat all of his concoctions especially his lasagna. He also had a passion for cleaning. Everything was always immaculate. He was awarded a certificate for his janitorial skills. Kelly worked at PS 57 and Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, New York, and Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Kelly relocated from New York City to Easton, Pennsylvania in 1989, and worked at the Woods Company at Lafayette College Food Service. He moved the family back to New York in 1994. Kelly alone returned back to Easton, Pennsylvania, in 2015 and was accepted into the Nehemiah House Men’s Facility. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of Greater Shiloh Church.
Kelly was loved by many and could brighten anyone’s day. He had a great sense of humour, and he always drew a crowd. He kept everyone’s attention craving his jokes whenever he was present. To know him was to love him. His desire was to see people laugh and be happy.
He is survived by his children; Christine (Edwin), Kelly Nicole and Kelvin Antoine; grandchildren, Kyreem Sr., Janiya, Trinity, Madison; great grandchildren, Kyreem, Jr., Mason, Matthieu; sisters, Betty-Jean, Renee (Brian), Anastasia, Chrissy (Michael), Joyce, Temeka, Sherrice; brothers, Larry, Mark (Rosalind), Michael, Gregory, Thomas (Tommie), George, Thomas (Chico), Eric; Aunts, Sheila, Hilda (Thomas); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, a great-great niece and nephews and a host of cousins, and his loving adopted aunt Barbara from Texas. In addition to his mother and father, Kelly was predeceased by George and Walter who also helped to raise him, his brother Pierre (Pepe), his nephew, Tee, and his spiritual mother, Mother Alma McCray.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday at 12PM in the Main Sanctuary of Greater Shiloh Church 403 Pastor Fred Davis Street, Easton. Viewing begins at 10AM. Interment will follow services in Northampton Memorial Shrine-Palmer Township.
