Juan A Rodriguez

Juan Antonio Rodriguez passed away on September 5, 2021 at the age of 71, where he spent most of his adult life in Allentown, PA, as a foreman in the textile industry.   Juan will soon return to his birth place of Ceiba, Puerto Rico.  His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with his usual serious and unrelenting look on his face. 

Juan was a comedian and jokester who crossed all political, racial or social boundaries.  If you were close to him, he could keep you rolling in laughter because he found humor in most of life’s circumstances.  We all have our own special story about him.

His lifetime hobbies included fishing, billiards, playing dominoes and flirting with pretty girls.  In each of these hobbies, he always played to win and took no prisoners. For a while in his life, Juan had a passionate love affair with women, beer and cuchifrito, not necessarily in that order.

While others battling cancer welcomed sorrowful looks or pitying remarks, from family and friends, that was not who he was.  Juan was a man’s man and refused to acknowledge or show any pain, to the day of his departure.  Although he carried himself with a tough exterior, Juan knew God had been calling out to him for many years and he finally made his peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whose love and mercy Juan could not resist. 

He is survived by his children: Rosemary, Juan, Jr., Danny and David., who inherited his quick wit and stubbornness.  His grandchildren are: Caitlin, Michael, James, Hope, Faith, a grandson he had yet to meet and another grandson, Evan, who was waiting for his grandpa in heaven. 

Juan was preceded by his mom and dad, Gregoria Hernandez and Ismael Rodriguez, as well as, the mothers of his children, Rose and Pat.  He is terribly missed by his siblings: Mari Luz, Margarita, Mirna, Evelyn, Osvaldo and Roberto.  Additionally, Juan has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
