Jose A. Raices, 76, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. Born on September 24, 1949, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Jose lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, and love.

A proud and hardworking man, Jose enjoyed a long career as a truck driver before his retirement. However, his true legacy lies in his devotion to his family. He was a man of exceptional character who faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience—never complaining and never wavering. Generous to a fault, he was always ready to lend a hand or defend those in need.

While "superhero" is often just a title in fiction, Jose embodied those qualities in real life; to his family, he was their Superman. At the center of his world was his wife of 56 years, Natividad, whom he adored and was his “guiding star”.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Natividad Raices; their children, Maria Inez Raices, Jose A. Raices Jr. and his wife Raeanne, Angelo Jose Raices and his wife Muriel, and Yvanna Raices.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Andrew Jose Nieves-Raices, Augustine Antonio Nieves-Raices, Aaron Lee Nieves-Raices, Jasmine Alyssa Raices and her partner Kevin Prongay, Jessica Inez Figueroa and her husband Joel Figueroa, Jose A. Raices III, Emerson Raices, and Charlotte Victoria Raices; and his step-grandchildren, Michael Parris, Jr., Elijah Davis, and Ariel Davis. He will be deeply missed by his great-grandchildren, Samuel Figueroa and Silas Figueroa. He will be missed by his constant companion, his poodle mix, Jet.

At the request of the family viewing and services will be private.  Interment will take place in Garden of Peace Cemetery immediately after services.
