He was a talented musician, artist and painter known to his friends and fellow musicians as “Johnny Jam”. He played guitar, harmonica, sang and wrote songs and had his own band, the Rebeltones. John also performed with the Trendsetters, Rhythm Jacks and many other musicians throughout the area. He loved fishing and trains and was a 1971 graduate of Parkland High School.
Born in Allentown, John was the son of the late John J and Helen M (Yagerhofer) Stranzl. He is survived by three sisters, Mary Ann, wife of Matt Frinzi, Breinigsville; Rita, wife of Tom Cramer, Nazareth; and Janet, wife of Jody Arner, New Ringgold. Survivors include niece, Jennifer Cramer of Long Island, NY, and nephews Jeffrey Cramer, Nazareth (wife Gaby and daughters, Dara and Zoey); Tom Cramer, Nazareth (wife Jeneen and children, Tommy and Sadie); Mike Frinzi, Macungie (wife Ruby and daughter Milana); Matthew Frinzi, West Chester (wife Stacey and sons, Roman and Monte).
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Jordan U.C.C. 1837 Church Rd, Allentown, PA, 18104 Visitation 10-11, Service at 11:00.
