James Daniel Adams
April 1, 1960 – February 16, 2025
James Daniel Adams peacefully departed this life in the early hours of Sunday, February 16, 2025. Born on April 1, 1960, at Sharon General Hospital, he was the beloved son of Joseph and Julia Adams.
James, affectionately known as Jim or Jim-Jim, attended Harrison Morton High School, where he made history as the first Black quarterback to play for the school. He later attended Dieruff High School before beginning his career as a dedicated union laborer with Local 1174.
Jim will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, and infectious smile that could light up any room. He had a deep love for sports, especially the Baltimore Ravens and the Boston Celtics. He rarely missed an episode of ESPN’s SportsCenterand enjoyed watching his grandchildren play football. A true music lover, Jim’s favorite artist was Prince, and he could often be found listening to his hits.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his son, James Brooks Britt; his wife, LaShonda Britt; his grandson, Brooks Britt; his granddaughter, Miracle Rodriguez; and his great-grandson, Aziah Britt. He is also survived by his sister, Geraldine Pegues; brother, Andrew Joseph Adams; his nieces, Tiah Jones, Tiffany Polek LaJuneWynder, and Tanisha Wynder; his nephew, Michael Ashby; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 3-5PM at the Inkwell, 1125 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA.
Jim’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
