Henrietta Mills In Our Care

Henrietta L. Mills lovingly know as Ya-Ya and Retta, was born on March 23, 1946, in Hempstead, NY. Henrietta was the only child to Isabelle Taylor.
Henrietta attended several schools throughout Long Island. After graduating High School, she attended cosmetology school in Brooklyn, NY where she received her license to practice being a
beautician. Not long after receiving her license, Henrietta met and married her first love-Horace Billy Lomax II, who proceeded her in death. From this union, they enjoyed life and raised their
five children together. While raising her five beautiful children, Henrietta held down several jobs in New York City. She worked in the Garment District, as well as being a home health aide.
Henrietta chose to relocate to Pennsylvania in the late 90’s. After her move, she continued her employment as a home health aide.
Henrietta was loved by everyone; she was the type of woman who would give you the shirt off her back. She would feed everyone who came to visit. She was a woman of GOD. Henrietta’s
favorite hobby besides shopping was playing Bingo and watching ‘In the Heat of the Night.’ She had a love for music and dancing, the color royal blue, family gatherings, being around her
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On November 3, 2006, Henrietta married James Mills. Prior to their union they, as a couple joined Mount Sinai in PA. As they grew strong together, they relocated to Virginia, where they joined Grace Independent Methodist Church. Five years later, Henrietta aka ‘Retta’ and James moved to Georgia to care for her loved ones who sadly passed away. After their demise, both Retta and James moved back to Pennsylvania where they joined Resurrected Life Church. They stayed there until 2015. After looking for a church for 2 years, Bishop Timothy E. Beville, Jr. decided to open a church. Henreitta joined the choir, she joined the usher board, she was the kitchen manager and later became an Ordained Deacon of the Gospel until GOD called her home. On January 23, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, Henreitta was called home by GOD at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg in Bethlehem PA.
Henrietta leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Isabelle Taylor, her loving husband James, 5 children, Sharmon (who proceeded her in death), Theresa, Horace, Desiree and John (Man, who
proceeded her in death), 1 son-in-law; Big Leijah, 1 daughter-in-law; Arlene, 23 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, 3 children of whom she raised as her own, Lois, Milton, & Jessica, 7 step-children; James Jr. (Meredith), Nicole, Lamour, Angela (Shawn), Darryl and Eric, 1 uncle Dennis, 1 brother-in-law; Kevin Lomax, 2 sisters-in-law; Deborah Bazemore & Peggy Lomax, a host of Godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

To know Henrietta is to love her. Her laugh, her smile, her one-of-a-kind personality will bedeeply missed and cherished by all who loved her. Go ahead Retta, take your rest, we love you,
but GOD loves you Best,
