We are saddened to announce the passing of Eva Deutsch, a remarkable woman of strength, honesty, and generosity, who left us on August 23, 2023. Born on June 21, 1933, Eva lived her life to the fullest, radiating love, respect and unwavering confidence towards everyone she encountered. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Emil Deutsch, her cherished daughter Gabriela Rivera, and her nephew Michael Phillips in the realm beyond.
Eva's vivacity and zest for life will be kept alive by her loving daughters Cynthia and Christina Deutsch; her grandchildren Yolanda Rivera, Emil Jackson, Rita Deutsch, Eugenia Pugh, Ciara Martin, and Careyleah Foster; great grandchildren Tatiana Carrasco, Tanaezsa Rivera, Sandro and Xavier Camacho, Tashia, Peter and Isabella Figueroa, Maria Elena Ocasio, Ezra, Emilyn, and E'gypt Jackson, Johnathon Cordero, Stephon Prosper, Jaydalynn and Stephen White Jr, E'mahni, Elijah, and Emyiah Howard, Josiah Joubert, Makayla Pugh, Jericka and Bruce George, Trinity Martin and Asteria Dancy; great great grandchildren Danilo Perez III, Heaven Conrad, Jerimiah Figueroa, and Roman Caballero; her devoted sister Elfriede Phillips, and her adored niece Angelina Phillips. Her spirit and love will continue to live on in them, just as her lessons and wisdom will guide everyone for years to come. Eva's loss is deeply felt by each of them, and by her numerous friends and acquaintances who were fortunate to have known such a spirited soul.
Eva's profound love for her family was equaled only by her passion for her work. Among her proudest achievements was opening her bar, Evil Evas (also her nickname, however she wasnt evil at all), a testament to her audacity and business acumen. Her mantra of 'Always stand up for yourself and don't give up' served not only as a personal guiding star but also inspired those around her to be strong and resilient.
Eva's culinary favorites ranged from comforting dishes such as pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, soups, meatloaf, and haddock, to delightful treats like ice cream and Reese's candies. She appreciated a good drink, most notably Hennessy, Windsor, and Moscato. A fan of disco music, Eva also found joy in popular TV shows such as Law & Order-SVU, Dr. Phill, Murder She Wrote, Love Boat, and Family Feud, and she was a proud fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Amid Eva's bustling lifestyle, she found tranquility in her pastimes, which included spending time with her grandchildren, shopping for clothes, lounging on the beach, hitting the gym, or enjoying her favorite vacation spots in Saint Martin, Rio De Janeiro, Ocean City, MD, and Las Vegas. She was fond of the colors green and lavender, which reflected her vibrant and caring personality.
A Viewing for Eva will be held on August 31, 2023, at 11:00am - 12:00pm with a service to follow in Restoration Temple, 1101 Tilghman Street, Allentown, PA. We welcome all those whose lives were touched by Eva to join us in remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived.
Eva's legacy of generosity, strength, honesty, respect, and love will forever resonate in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed.
