Elizabeth Wasilousky In Our Care

Elizabeth Wasilousky (Betty), 97, formerly of Palmerton, died on Friday, August 8, while under Hospice care. She was born in Lansford to the late Michael and Anna (Holic) Strauss and was predeceased by seven siblings and beloved son-in-law Floyd Van Allen. She was the loving wife of the late Peter S. Wasilousky for 46 years until his passing in 1999.

Betty worked as an x-ray technician at Palmerton Hospital before starting a family. She retired from Scotty’s Fashions in 1990.

Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. She was selfless, kind and patient, and loved unconditionally. Betty was known for her delicious halupkis and chicken soup and fed everyone that walked through the door.

Surviving are a son, Peter Wasilousky and granddaughter Samantha, both of Harbour Beach, FL; daughter Linda Van Allen; grandchildren: Dylan Van Allen and Jacquelyn, wife of Matthew Ruch and their children Isaak and Madelyn, of Emmaus.

Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family at the Orthodox cemetery in Hometown, PA. A celebration of her life will be held next spring.
