Ecclesiastes Bowie, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by love.
Born in Amonate, Virginia, Ecclesiastes lived a life marked by quiet strength, grace, and kindness. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a woman who always placed the needs of others before her own. Her gentle spirit and caring nature touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Benjamin Bowie II, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. She will be laid to rest beside him at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, reunited once again.
Ecclesiastes was the proud mother of her only child, Robert B. Bowie III, who was the center of her world and a devoted presence throughout her life. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Marcus Bowie and Ava Bowie, who brought her great joy. She is further survived by her son’s fiancée, Adrienne Keffer, who lovingly served as her primary caregiver during the final six months of her life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Lehigh Valley Home Hospice team for their compassionate care, guidance, and support during her final journey.
Ecclesiastes will be remembered for her dignity, gentle heart, and the love she gave so freely.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday January 22, 2026 at 9:30AM in St. James A,M.E. Zion Church 410 Union St. Allentown, PA. A viewing will take place in the church on Wednesday Evening from 5-7PM. There are no calling hours Thursday AM. Interment will follow Thursday morning services at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
