Carla J. Morgan

Carla Jean (Phelps) Morgan, 74, of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital in Bethlehem. Born May 11, 1945, in Harrisburg, she was the birth daughter of the late John and Annie Mae (Inmon) Phelps. She was raised by her grandparents, Henry and Lillie Mae (Inmom) Davis, whom she called Daddy and Mommy.

Carla was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1963; she then continued her education graduating from the Cambridge School of Business & Broadcasting, Boston, Massachusetts with an Associate’s Degree.

As a widowed parent of six, Carla worked for Bethlehem Steel as a welder, then later at Mack Trucks before finding her niche in the administrative field.

She is remembered for her love of cooking, which she learned from her grandparents in their catering business, the former Davis Catering Service, as well as the pampering of her children, grandchildren and extended family. She never turned away anyone who needed a place to stay or meal to eat.

Carla was predeceased by her sister, Cynthia D. Jackson. Her memories will be cherished by her daughters: Raquel Phelps, Clarice, Charlotte Petrina and Cybill; sons: Charlie and Tristan, 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will take place at 11AM Saturday February 29, 2020 in the Funeral Home.  Viewing begins at 10AM.
