Daniel Womack In Our Care

The Life Story of Daniel Womack

1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Daniel Womack, affectionately known as “Danny”, departed this life on February 10, 2019.

Danny, was born to the late James E. Martin Jr. and Lillian Womack on April 4, 1958 in Philadelphia Pa. Danny was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and at an early age showed a gift and interest in musical instruments. He soon learned to play drums, keyboard, guitar and bass guitar all by ear. He showed a special penchant and love for the guitar and was known for his ability to play it with ease and precision.

Approximately 30 years ago, he moved from Philadelphia and decided to make Allentown his home. He was married to Anita Strickland and through this union, two daughters were born. After establishing Allentown as his residence,  Danny participated in the Christian Living Program-Allentown Rescue Mission where he graduated with honors. Soon after, he joined the Word of Faith Church where he has been a faithful and dedicated member for the past twenty years. He was a member of the band at the church and was known to play several instruments in the band, including the guitar.

Danny was always known as a jovial, happy go lucky and caring individual. During his mother’s illness a few years ago, Danny camped out in the hospital for well over a week, refusing to leave her side. He sat by her bedside day and night watching and ensuring that she knew she wasn’t alone.

Danny was known for his warm smile, even temper and gentle spirit. He was a great listener who always had a kind word for everyone he met. It was rare to ever see Danny raise his voice or express anger towards anyone.

In addition to his love of musical instruments, Danny was a master at figuring out how things worked. He could often be found working on audiovisual equipment and enjoyed repairing computers.

Danny touched many lives and will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by family and friends.

Danny leaves to cherish his memories; two daughters Teckla Henderson (Womack), Rebekah Womack, Tracy Calvin, a special friend of 10 years, , four brothers and sisters, Hassan Womack (Barbara),  Lillian Womack (Ron), Darlene Walker and Gaylord Garland; a host of special nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday at 12PM in Word of Faith Church of God In Christ 837 Linden Street Allentown, PA 18102  Viewing begins at 11AM.
