Dear Friends,
I was devastated to see today's obituary informing of Bill Scott's passing. I had seen and talked with him at the recent Lehigh luncheon for retired faculty and was impressed with the fine grandson who accompanied him.
I first met Bill while he and his academic program were housed in the Rauch Business Center, close to my office, and kept in touch with him over the years. Bill was a fine man and a voice of reason; I am so sorry he is gone. My sincerest sympathies are with all of you.
Peace and blessings,
Jim Largay

I got to know Bill after my family and I moved to Allentown some nine years ago. We discovered we had a connection with some mutual friends from his days at Lincoln University.
I admired Bill's scholarship and knowledge of African history. Whenever the opportunity offered itself, I would be a student in the scholar in residence classes Bill taught at Resurrected Life Community Church, in Allentown. As a longtime student of African history, I learned a lot from Bill particularly about the early churches in Ethiopia.
Bill and I served together on the Resurrected Community Development Board. I always enjoyed being in Bill's company. My family and I mourn his death and we pray for Bill's eternal rest. May God grant his family the strength and love to move forward advancing the wonderful legacy Dr. Bill Scott created.

Bill is a special kind of person--a deep thinker with a wry sense of humor and infectious laugh.
I first met Bill at Resurrected Life Community Church about four years ago. Over time we became close friends. Bill was very easy to talk with--always an active listener and genuinely interested in my thoughts and feelings on a broad range of topics.
We spent time together at Nockamixon State Park and at museums, plays, concerts and movies in our local area. At a concert in Sellersville, we saw Sierra Leone's All Stars. Bill, in groove with the music, suddenly stood up and with a huge smile joined others in spontaneous dance on the concert floor. Great times. Great laughs. Great memories. I thank God for time together with my friend Bill.
Vaya con dios Guillermo.

May God bless and comfort the family of Dr. William Scott. "Scotty" and I were classmates at Lincoln University, PA. We were also fraternity brothers. What a joy it was to have Scotty as a classmate and to know such a great scholar and great friend.
