Doris E Galipeau
January 27, 1922 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old
Doris died June 29th at home in Allentown Pa. She was born
in Woonsocket R.I. and was 95 years old. Married to her husband,
Marcel Galipeau, for 56 years. He predeceased her. She was
the daughter of Joseph and Laura Henault Benjamin.
She was also predeceased by son Gerard (Jerry) Galipeau,brothers
Edward, Ovila and George Benjamin, and sisters Lillian Ward, Irene
Benjamin, Edith Lambert, Lucille Nadeau,Suzanne Sarazin and Paulette
Allen Duarte.
She is survived by son, Denis Galipeau,a brother Robert Benjamin
and 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Doris worked as a para legal in R.I for 12 years and office
Manager for Northern R.I. Joint Board Union and Credit Union for 12
years.She also was an Amway Distributor for 3 years as well as
Office Manager for Air Terminal Services of N.Y. at T.F. Greene
Airport R.I. for 3 years until transferred to Washing National
Airport for another 3 years at which time she chose to do stained
glass for local gift shops for 20 years.
She also won the Mrs R.I. contest and went on to represent R.I.
in the Mrs. America Pageant.
In R.I. Doris was Treasurer of the Democratic Auxiliary and was
elected State Committee Woman.
She was a member of the Saint Catherines of Siena
Women's Alliance and former member of the Lehigh Valley
Crafts Association.
There will be no viewing and burial will be private.
A dedicated Mass will be at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of
Siena on the 6th of January at 4:15.
