Agapita Figueroa-Alvarado
April 20, 1938 - May 5, 2017
Agapita Figueroa-Alvarado, 79, of Allentown, Pennsylvania passed
away Friday, May 5, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
Agapita was born on April 20, 1938, in Morovis, Puerto Rico, she
was the daughter of the late Ancermo Figueroa and Petrona Ojeda.
She was the wife of Arturo Alvarado for over 50 years.
Agapita was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She
was very proud of her family and was always looking for more
ways to help. Nothing was more important than spending time with
the family, laughing, singing, and dancing! She always had a smile
on her face when the family was together.
Those of us who knew Agapita well, remember her for many
wonderful things. She loved to wake up before the sun to start her
day, she would make breakfast, clean, and make everything perfect
for the day; because she cared so much. Her family was her life.
Even though Agapita was kind and sweet, her tough competitive
nature shined bright during Bingo and even more during Domino
games. It was never a good idea to try put one over on her while
playing the game!
Agapita leaves behind 3 children, 14 grandchildren, 8
great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
The Alvarado family lost a great woman whose memory will live on
through her children and grandchildren. She will forever be loved
and missed dearly. We are so thankful that we were fortunate enough to call her ours and are blessed because she
loved us so.
Viewing and Prayer services will take place on Tuesday from 5-9PM in the Funeral Home.
Agapita Alvarado will return to Puerto Rico for Mass of Christian Burial and additional services. Interment will
take place in Cementerio Municipal de Morovis in Morovis, Puerto Rico.
